One Billion With A “B” Is How Much Google Pays Apple To Be The iPhone Default Search

Wow. One billion dollars is how much Google paid Apple in 2014 to be the default search engine on their iPhone line, according to court documents from Oracle’s lawsuit against Apple.

While it’s not a flat fee, the $1B comes from Apple receiving 34% cut of all Google’s mobile revenue on Apple iPhone devices, which must have been $3B in 2014. So a third of all $$$ generated from searches on iPhones goes back into Apple’s pocket.

Quite a deal.
