Not only will we be welcoming a new decade in about 35 days, but to commemorate the New Year Google will be switching over to a brand new search engine infrastructure.

Dubbed “caffeine”, Google’s new search rankings will provide quicker, sleeker and most importantly more meaningful results, that according to the search giant.

Google beta tested the new datacenter allowing webmasters and SEOs a sneak peak into what’s to come. The three-month test period concluded just a few weeks ago and Google is now satisfied enough to roll out it’s biggest search update since Big Daddy a few years ago after the Holidays.

From most reports, the new rankings will weed out much of the junk listings presently found in the listings. There is also chatter of fewer “over optimization” penalties, greater importance of SEO techniques, more weight given to keyword domains and increased significance on page load times and bounce rates. So be advised!

But as usual Google is hush (and will remain hush) on the exact ingredients that will go into the new rankings.
