If you went with the default URL when you were first setting up your feed for your blog or website on feedburner.com, then there’s still the option of changing it to a something more attractive or vanity-ish than “http://feeds.feedburner.com/<blog name>/Q7w9-2L” or the like.
First, log into feedburner and create a brand new feed pointing to that same blog/website. Of course make sure change the default feed address which is given to you by feedburner to something more appealing and easier to remember should you wish.
Then, click to your old feed in feedburner and change the feed location to the new feed you just created. (i.e, change “http://<your site>/feed” to http://feeds.feedburner.com/<new url>”.
For the final step, delete the old feed and enable the 30-day redirect. Now anyone who is subscribing to the old feedburner URL will get redirected to the new one.
And that’s it.
Hi,
When I change from my old feed to new feed, what will happen to email subscribers.
People subscribed through URL using feed reader will get new url through redirect.
Will all those users subscribed through email will be transferred to new feed?
Regards,
Joseph
